I know, I know! You’re here because you stumbled across my blog, (hopefully) loved it and want to know about who’s behind Jaini’s Diaries.
My name is Jaini and I’m a born and bred Kenyan. I’m trying to balance my passion for writing for this blog with my day job at the city’s top internationally-acclaimed advertising agency, which is a challenge, but I love both!
Living in a beautiful country like Kenya with gorgeous locales to escape to, the wanderlust and creativity that swept up my soul was inevitable. This wanderlust fuelled my passion for travel, which is now reflected in my artwork. And who doesn’t love food, especially donuts 😉 and so, I decided to combine my fondness for travel, art and food and the penchant for writing in this blog, where I highlight my little adventures.
But the idea of creating a blog came up when I was planning my travels to Alaska (my ultimate dream destination) when people asked me, “WHY Alaska?” There is something about the glistening blue waters, shiny icebergs and the lush, green mountains that drew me in. And so, I knew I had to tell people about my travels. After procrastinating for about a year, I finally got around to it and published my first post on my then-most-recent trip to Zanzibar, followed by the whole Alaskan series.
And since I paint, this became a platform to share my artwork. I even hosted my first art exhibition, which was quite successful.Armed with my creative writing skills and my sister, Diva‘s, photographs, this is a little peek into my world of travel, art and all things vibrant.
